State Minister for National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza will inaugurate the day-long 5th Pakistan Pharma Summit at a hotel in Islamabad on 19th February, 2020.
The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) is organizing the 5th Pharma Summit to discuss in detail issues related to functioning, regulation, control, growth, and advancement of the Pakistani pharmaceutical industry. The title of this year’s summit is “Mastering innate strengths and acquiring new capabilities”.
Prof Dr Zaheer-ud-Din Babar, Professor of Medicines and Healthcare at the University of Huddersfield, will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural of the summit. He will speak on pharmaceutical policy, access to medicines and patient health outcomes.
PPMA Chairman Mian M Zaka ur Rehman will deliver the opening remarks at the inauguration of the conference while Dr Kaiser Waheed being the chairman of the summit would brief its audience about objectives of the conference.
Other notable speakers of the conference will include notable names of the Pakistani pharmaceutical industry like Ali Akhai, Khalid Mahmood, Javed Gulam Mohammad, Zahid Saeed, Osman Khalid Waheed, Nusrat Munshi, Hamid Raza, Haroon Qassim, Dr Shahzad Khan, Dr Uzair Nagra and others. Former State Minister Tariq Ikram and Adviser to Health Minister Sultan Ghani will also feature in the summit.
A session of the summit will discuss role of the pharmaceutical industry in patient safety from its production to marketing. Chief Executive Officer of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Asim Rauf will be the chief guest of the session as Dr Zakiuddin Ahmed will act as its moderator. The speakers of this session include Nadeem Rehmat, Anis Shah, Zeba Ahmed Shuja, Abdul Latif Sheikh, Hashim Hassan, and Dr Rizwan Mahmood.
